Gartner, the world’s leading information technology research and advisory company, has completed its acquisition of CEB Inc., the industry leader in providing best practice and talent management insights. Together, they are now the world’s leading research and advisory company.

The Opportunity

Blocshop was tasked with providing a web application that supports the ‘Challenger’ sales process for the CEB division of Gartner. This task demanded the delivery of a greenfield project that would encompass a complete suite of CRM like functionality.

The Approach

In technology terms, this was a full stack project that was implemented using the .NET core framework for server-side APIs and Angular for the front-end implementation. The project was implemented using a mixture of ASP.NET Core, Angular, Material Design, SQL Server and was delivered on Microsoft Azure. Agile methods were used to keep strong communication and collaboration which was key to the projects success.

With over 32,000 customers, Asseco is a pioneer and visionary in the ERP sector. Asseco has been delivering the most up-to-date technologies in the area of cutting-edge business software for 25 years.

The Opportunity

Asseco required a replacement for their legacy ERP/CRM system to provide a more scalable architecture. The legacy system had reached breaking point and adding new features was difficult due to the complexity of the architecture. Asseco tasked Blocshop with developing a replacement to reduce their system complexity going forward.

The Approach

Blocshop utilized Domain-Driven Design methods to deliver a microservices-based implementation of a highly configurable and customizable multi-tenant cloud-based CRM. Agile delivery methods were used to compliment the delivery, which was the best-in-class digital architecture. In technology terms, the Front End was delivered in Angular with the microservices layer written in .NET Core and deployed via Docker and Kubernetes to Azure.

The Client

We are extremely proud of our longstanding engagement with BCC who we value as a committed business patner. A subsidiary of the French e-commerce giant Fnac Darty, BCC is one of the leading brands specializing in the sale of electronic and Smart Home products in the Netherlands. The company employs 1,300 staff across 65 stores in addition to offering their retail products over a leading digital platform.

The Opportunity

Blocshop was initially engaged in 2015 to re-write BCC’s checkout process in .NET with Azure deployment. After successfully delivering on this workload, we have been tasked with migrating legacy e-commerce systems to a Microservices based architecture.

The Approach

We have used Scrum as a method of collaboration and the planning sessions, daily meetings and retrospectives have supported us in delivering quality work and forging strong relationships between the teams. In terms of the technical stack, new features are written in Angular with backends in .NET Core and deployed to Azure. The legacy systems are being migrated from SSIS, Silverlight and .NET Forms.
